Last week, Ashly and I attended WWD Magic in Las Vegas. Magic is a huge exhibition that interconnects fashion with retail/business. Hundreds of fashion brands- designer, alternative, indie, and mainstream- set up booths displaying their latest lines to attract a coterie of fashion enthusiasts and retailers from around the globe. Needless to say, it’s an incredible presentation of creativity that’s simultaneously exhilarating and exhausting. There are so many things to see and people to meet that it can be overwhelming, but in a completely wonderful way. Here’s my summary of WWD Magic in images and captions.

Ashly and I prepared for networking, schmoozing, and beyond by arming ourselves with some serious(ly pink) herCatwalk gear.

We stayed at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas! (The REAL Paris is, hopefully, next on our agenda?)

The fake streets of Paris!
Our rooms were amazing, but the view from our room was breathtaking! (Kidding aside, our rooms were really nice!)
A huge sign inside WWD Magic

The Las Vegas Convention Center was partitioned into little booths where brands could showcase their latest lines.
Desigual is a Spanish brand that had a huge presence at Magic.

Desigual constantly had crazy action going on in their corner, including this live painting runway show. Is it just me or does this remind you of a mad scientist’s lab gone rogue?

Shot of a display at WWD Magic.

As you can see, the different brands cater towards vastly different audiences. Here are some adorable cupcake paraphernalia. It reminds me of my Sanrio-crazed, all-things-cute days.

Shoes galore!

Some of the brands were definitely more innovative in their displays.

Display from Free People.

A WWD Magic veteran colleague of mine told me that Magic attracts a huge audience from abroad, especially Asia. How true this was! I saw tons of people from Korea, which is where I’m from. Do you know how I spotted my people? (Hint: They were the ones eating ramen in the lounge area!)

Okay, so this shot has nothing to do with Magic, but I love seeing wedding parties roaming the streets. I saw this bride hopping into a limo outside our hotel as we were leaving for the airport. I told my friend that I wanted to start a photo collection of street snapshots like the Sartorialist, but of wedding people only. He thought it was creepy.

The view of Vegas at night is so much better than Vegas during the daytime.

Vegas wouldn’t be Vegas without the gambling! Yay for my $31 win!
On the one cent slot machines. Clearly, I’m a baller.
