As a wannabe foodie who actively daydreams about good food, I’m a consummate devourer of food shows.  (Hello Top Chef, Bizarre Foods, etc!)  One of my regular must-watch shows is Chopped, where four chefs from all over America with different culinary points of view are pitted against each other.  Each round, the chefs receive a surprise basket full of random ingredients that they must incorporate into a dish.  It’s amazing to see how the different chefs interpret and showcase the same ingredients.  One night, while I was watching an episode of Chopped, I thought to myself, “Can’t we do something similar with style?”  Hence, herCatwalk’s blogger challenge was born!  I decided to send three fashion bloggers with very different styles from all over the world the same surprise package.  Each package contained the same “ingredients,” but each blogger had complete creative liberty to incorporate the pieces to their liking.

There are so many style bloggers that I love, so it was nearly impossible to winnow my choices down to three, but I selected Gela of Boat Ride Through The Sky, Louise of Coffee and a Cardigan, and Monica of Freesia Blog.  Three surprise packages were sent to the Philippines, Oregon, and Mexico respectively.

Here were the instructions!  (Note: We sent the packages in January, so we included some Valentine’s Day candy.  Unfortunately, being a newbie start-up community, we were unaware of customs policies, so our international packages were stranded at the post office for over a month!  Luckily, they finally made it to Gela and Monica.)

Gela incorporated her headband with a striped button down shirt from Cotton On and a dress from Undernourished Manila and oxfords from Archive Clothing.  Her tote bag is from Forever 21!  Check out more photos of Gela and her headband on her blog.
